Manually executing the updates in question on one of the machines where they are seeming to fail should bring to light the reason for which the updates are failing to apply.
As to the applicability of the updates, reviewing the 'Patch Information' tab within the scan result while the 'Patch Missing' item in question is selected should indicate the reason for which the update is considered applicable on the target. There will also be a link to both the Bulletin, and the KB for that update, which should provide further details regarding the update (i.e. the 'indicators' used to determine applicability).
