VMware Protect Patch 1 fails to install.

    Master
The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer server because the program may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. (etc.) is the error message.

      I'm running version 8.0.0, Build 3643.

My guess is that the installer service is expecting the app to be located on the C: drive. My installation is on the D: drive.

      Is there anything I'm missing?

Are you running a beta version or something? The release version of 8.0 was build 3756. You need to be at build 3756 to be able to apply this patch. You may be better off to uninstall, and then reinstall with the full installation of the latest build using this installer: https://hfnetchk4.shavlik.com/downloads/VMwareProtect_8.0.3787.0.exe

No, I was not running a beta version. I did as instructed, removed tha pp, and have the same results.

Here is my version info as per your suggestion this morning, followed by the specific ProtectUpdate error log file:

Is there a currently installed version from which you obtained the version information which you posted? The latest version is 8.0, build 3787. If this is the currently installed version, then Patch 1 is already applied. It may also be more expedient to contact support directly for assistance.

I looked it up, and 8.0.0, Build 3643 was indeed our Beta 1 for Protect 8.0. That was the reason you were not able to apply the patch. Now after installing the latest version you no longer need the patch. You are already at the latest build available as was mentioned by PH.
