Shavlik NetChk Protect can no longer decrypt credentials for this user

    Master
I'm getting this error when trying to access the Options page and I am unable to update the license. I think the Service account we use for Shavlik maybe have been reset. How do we reset these credentials?

This can vary depending upon both the version of NetChk Protect, and upon which credentials are failing to be decrypted. For versions 7.6x and versions 7.8x, you can run the following query against the Protect database (i.e. via Management Studio) to clear ALL of the stored default credentials (the credentials set via the 'Tools>Options' menu) for ALL users:

          DELETE FROM credential where (type=6)

If you would like more specific assistance with stored credentials (i.e. clearing stored credentials for a specific user only), please contact support so that we can provide you with the necessary tool.
