We do perform a check on skype.exe, however, if the registry key doesn't exist the application is not considered fully installed.
It may not be fully installed, but it is installed and usable. Maybe that is an issue with the skype installer.
Can we add another detection rule as a Plan B, if the program isn't installed correctly but it is present on the system?
The reason we don't create file detection within SCUP is because the file could be installed in locations other than C:Program Files (x86)SkypePhoneskype.exe (i.e. under D: or E:). Also, SCUP doesn't distinguish well the difference between the default Program Files path specific to x86 systems and x64 systems. We are currently exploring alternative and more reliable file detection methods.
