We have multiple consoles, each of which currently use their own local Express database. We'd like to centralize to one SQL server, and preferably one Shavlik database instance if feasible. Also, please detail performance considerations - when does it make sense to have the SQL server at the local site vs a remote site (which could possibly have a slower network bandwidth).
In most cases, it makes the most sense to keep the SQL database on the same LAN as the NetChk Protect console (rather than across a WAN link). Another option to consider is implementing a data roll-up server, which will allow you to manage all of your data from a centralized location while still allowing you to utilize multiple databases as needed.
