The item you need to uncheck is under Sun Microsystems. Unchecking Sun in general will remove all Java patches from being deployed from versions 1.4-10.
Doh, I missed that one - thanks Eric!
If i just want to exclude Java from updating to one specific server and keep the other servers from receiving the latest Java version, how do I do this? If I uncheck the Sun Microsystems, will that cause all Java to not download and install in all my systems?
We do not have a mechanism to say always exclude this patch from machine A but allow it to machine B, C, D, etc. What you would need to do is single out the machines that are not to get the patch and make them into a new machine group along with removing them from any other machine group. Now you have to create a new customized patch scan template that has the specific patch/patches excluded (Start by duplicating your normal template then create the exception). Last you set the template to your custom policy for those special machines or create a scheduled recurring event for the machine group to use the new template and deploy. I hope this helps and makes sense.
