Patch for SCCM stops talking to WSUS?

    jmminms Rookie

As of this am Ivanti Patch for SCCM has stopped talking to WSUS - was working last week -

settings all test good - WSUS server connection good - verify setup all good, but when I click on "ivanti patch" under Software updates it never loads - and when i click on "Published Third-Party Updates" i receive the following banner warning at the top of the reading pane:

"Error connecting to the WSUS server. Verify the WSUS parameters in "settings" and check your network."

fyi this is on the Central site server which is also the WSUS server.

this just started: anyone have any similar experiences or ideas?

      SCCM version: Configuration Manager 1706

ivanti patch for sccm version: 2.4.1488.0

      Thanks, John

          Hello John,

Thank you for your post. When you open your SCCM console, are you making sure to explicitly 'Run as Administrator'? The WSUS connection error occurs quite often if the console is not run as an administrator.

Please check that and let me know if that helps or not.

          Thank you,

          Anthony

Affirmative, have been doing that for two versions of shavlik patch. -. run console as admin -> the wsus server and verify in shavilk patch all test green. but the ivanti section under updates never loads and the third party updates section tosses the amber heading error.

we tried it with a Super User Domain admin account - and same issue.

            yes

              Hello John,

Thank you for your reply. Are you able to open the WSUS Admin console have it show as connected to the local WSUS server similar to below?

Or do you see no server listed in the console?

If you don't see a connected server here, see if you're able to connect to the WSUS server successfully.

Also, if possible, can you attach the Ivanti Patch.log file from C:\Users\{CurrentUser}\Ivanti\Ivanti Patch?

              Thank you,

              Anthony

                  John,

I am looking into this error, but what I would like to know is, are you modifying any patches prior to publishing them? It seems like the error might have something to do with a custom published patch.

                  Thank you,

                  Anthony

No Sir, no modification.  check - publish - download - deploy. only actions with updates via patch for sccm.

                      John,

Based on some further discussions, this may be an SCCM issue and not with our plugin. Can you please open a case here and once created, please upload our Ivanti Patch.log and AutoPublish.log to the case and we can review further.

                      Thank you,

Update: This issue was resolved by doing the following:

                          1. had to uninstall ivanti

                          2. had to delete the ivanti and shavlik folders from all users(profiles) and app data locations.

                          3. ran ccleaner to clean up residual links

                          4. re installed newest version of ivanti patch for sccm 2.4
