    Power Pack

    tompetro Rookie

      Hello all,

We pay for a Power Pack for each license yearly for each of our supported Windows servers....What added capability does this provide??

      Thanks.

          Hello Tom,

The Power Pack purchase allows you the access to our Power related items like Wake-on-Lan requests, Power state jobs which include sending reboots to machines, and Power status scans to get online/offline states of machines.

In the console, you will see two additional items that you wouldn't have without the Power Pack license, Power state and Power Status.

Power State is used to send out power related requests like shutting down or restarting a computer. A Template is built to complete a certain type of action based on needs.

Additional power options can be found in View > Machines. From the machine view, you can highlight a machine or machines, then right-click, and then go to Power to find the quick options.

Let me know if this helps.

          Thank you,

          Anthony

            Hi Anthony,

Thanks for the quick and detailed reply! So if this Power Pack was not purchased, normal flow of patching\rebooting jobs would be unaffected?

            Thanks.

              Tom,

There would be no effect on your patching or rebooting jobs within a deployment if the Power Pack license isn't purchased. The Power Pack is for power options outside of normal patching processes.

              Thank you,

              Anthony
