    Patch Deployment

    Hemal Rookie

      Hi Team

During Patch Tuesday week, we patch our IT machines before our scheduled deployment on the weekend. We patch our machines, and they reboot as per normal, is there way to stop the second reboot on the weekend when the scheduled patches run, as the machine have been patched.

      Thanks

          Hello,

Is there a scheduled scan with automatic deployment scheduled? You can cancel this from Manage > Scheduled Console Tasks.

Is there a scheduled deployment against these machines? You can cancel a scheduled deployment if it hasn't started processing. Cancel Deployments

          Thanks,

          Charles

            Hi Charles

Thanks for coming back to me. We have secluded deployment in place, but for our IT Machines we patch them before, to test the updates and make sure all okay. So we manually update them outside the secluded plans, but then on the weekend the machines re-scan and get rebooted again. So wanted to know if can avoid that for the patched machines.

            Thanks

              Hello,

The patched machines will scan, deploy and reboot if you have it scheduled to do so. They will only deploy and reboot if a missing patch is detected and installed on them. Did you use a Machine Group to schedule this?  If yes, you could attempt Exclude the machine in the Machine Group. How To Exclude Machines During A Scan

              Thanks,

              Charles
