Thanks Anthony ,
One further question , it would seem that some Antivirus products will require registry edits for the Windows update to recognize the patch is required for download –
Would this be required for Ivanti to distribute the patch as well ?
For context please see the link below - the product we are running is compatible however , I am wondering if Ivanti will see the patch as being required and allow deployment ?
Thanks again for the rapid response !
It looks like there are discussions happening on that subject as we speak internally. I'll post an update once I know more.
Thanks again Anthony ,
Please update the thread when your team has reviewed ?
We plan on having an official document released later today, however the basic outline of how we are handling the changes will be as follows:
- We are going to follow Microsoft's changes. We will have our detection look to make sure the registry key exists that indicates your AV is up-to-date, and will offer the patch with deployment support.
- We also will have our detection look to see if the patches apply but the registry key doesn't exist. This detection will allow you to know that you need those updates, however we will be placing a no deployment option on those patches until we detect the registry key is in place. There also will be a note that the machines are in this state on the details of the patch.
Again, more details will be coming. I will post our official documentation on this post once it's available.
