    Issue With Patch Installation


      Having issue with patch installation on a number of machines. Get the following int he deploy log; anyone seen or experience this before?


      2017-01-31T13:03:29.8243582Z 0314 E STDeploy.cpp:254 Target machine remediation failed: error 32: class STWin32::CWin32Exception at File.cpp:104: Error 32: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

          The issue that you are asking about based on the log lines is typically caused by a security or Antivirus software that is scanning the files during the deployment phase. Depending on your deployment type you will want to make exclusions for the files and locations listed in this Document AntiVirus Exclusions For Patch Deployments. Below you will also find an excerpt from the document for the agent and agentless exclusions.


          Agentless Deployments


          • STDeploy.exe
          • STSchedEx.exe
          • STScheduleview.exe
          • SafeReboot.exe
          • CL5.exe
          • C:\Windows\ProPatches
          • C:\ProgramData\Landesk\Shavlik Protect (Protect Server)
          • Any patch specific services(Windows update service, adobe updater, etc.)

          Agent-Based Deployments

          • STAgentUI.exe
          • STAgent.exe
          • STPatch.exe
          • STDispatch.exe
