    License assignment

    Kim.Hansen Rookie

Over the last year we have replaced a large quantity of our Laptops, when will these licenses be released?

Maybe if you have a whitepaper on license assignment it would be appreciated.

      Kind regards

          Hi Kim,

Thank you for posting your question.

You can check to see how many machines are using deployment seats in Help > About through the console. And you can also check which machines have seats by going to Tools > Create Reports and generating a Seat License Status report.

Seats will take 45 days to expire from the date of deployment or, if you have an agent, from when the agent last checked in.

As long as you are not in your renewal period, we can grant you temporary keys to get by until the unused machine seats have expired. Just let us know.

          Thanks!

Thanks David, Fast answer, we like this. From this report I get these data:

            Patch Licensed Seats: 1151

            Seats Used: 980

            Seats Available: 171

I read that 171 will be available within 45 days?

We just renewed, but could not figure out how we have used all. How do I get these temporary keys?

              Hi Kim,

That information reads that you have used 980 seats and you have not used 171 seats. Depending on when you last deployed to each machine the seat will be available 45 days from that date. Most likely some of 980 seats will become available long before the 45 days is up, but there is no way to check this.

Please let us know your company name and I will create a case for you and send an email if you need temporary seats. Please reply to the email with the type of seats you need (server or workstation) and how many you need and I will generate a key for that and send it to you through the case.

              Thanks!

Company name it Stibo A/S. I can also send you my key if needed.

                Happy newyear.

                  Hi David,

We only have workstation licenses, and it would be nice to have the 170 licenses we miss. But is there a way to clean, so used seats are representing the actual use.

Is there some way to do cleaning of old machines? We have upgraded a lot of machine from Windows 7 to 10 and these have new computernames.

                    Current data from report is:

                    Patch Licensed Seats: 1151

                    Seats Used: 964

                    Seats Available: 187

And still we cannot add machines.

                    And from the Help menu:

                    Licensed Capabilities

                      Hi Kim,

I went ahead and created a case for you and will be working with you on that.

                      Thanks!
