Google Chrome will download from https://dl.google.com/chrome/install/GoogleChromeStandaloneEnterprise.msi
Google always uses that URL to host the most recent chrome version, which is convenient if you want the latest version.
This information should be in the log: ST.Protect.managed.<yourusername@yourdomain>.log
It's not (maybe because it's throwing exceptions?); I just copied the log file and searched for 'google.com', no instances of it appear in the log. (It's attached, with a couple of identifying elements removed).
I know about the official download site: I didn't realize Shavlik simply renames the file on the fly. Plus (duh), if Shavlik (operating in an AD) is having problems with the downloaded executable, the target machines will almost certainly reject the patch, as well. I should have realized that before posting.
Thanks for the reply,

It does look like it's only logging the error. If you head to Tools > Options > Logging, are both settings set to "All", or "Basic"? The logs seem to be set to Basic. Verbose logs should provide more insight.
