I have a strange behavior, on a customer I have some VMs (about 3-4 of the 60) that takes more more time to execute patches.
All the servers are Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 and I do the patching every 3-4 months.
I give you an example, usually I have about 30 patches, the majority of VMs take between 15 and 30 minutes, on the servers where I have the issue Shavlik takes 1 hour and a half to complete.
There are no performance issue on the infrastructure, same SAN access, same physical hosts, and the VM are correctly sized for CPU and RAM.
Do you have an idea about what can I check or how to solve the issue?
Assuming all things are equal on these target machines, same amount of patches etc etc.
This is a common cause of slow deployments when performance isn't an issue: Best Practice: Windows Automatic Updates
