    Shavlik Address Book grayed out

    Rookie

      Hi,

We are in the process of setting up of adding the System Administrator's email address under the address book, and the field is grayed out. This is happening for the Machine Administrator and the Machine Owner contact as well.

Does anyone seem to know where we need to go in order to modify the default email addresses for these contacts?

are they being pulled from Active Directory?

I know we are able to add brand new contacts and groups and make them System Administrators. Hoping there is a way to utilize the default users listed in Shavlik before going about adding new Systems Administrator Contacts.

If anyone could shed some light on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

      Thanks,

      Pedram

          Hello,

The built-in addresses cannot be modified, there may be some confusion on how these are actually used.

System Administrator - If you want the contact to receive messages that are automatically sent to all system administrators, enable the System Administrator check box.  In other words, you are choosing to make new email contact System administrators when you create the contact.  Then you use the built-in contact if you want emails sent to these contacts

Machine Administrator - You set the Machine Administrator in View > Machines > Right-click on a Machine > Machine Properties > Email Tab.  Once set, you can choose to send emails to contacts using the built-in Machine Administrator contact.

Machine Owner - You set the Machine Owner in View > Machines > Right-click on a Machine > Machine Properties > Email Tab.  Once set, you can choose to send emails to contacts using the built-in Machine Owners contact.

Let me know if you have any questions.

          Thanks,

          Charles
