Can I build out a new server this way?

    Rookie

For a few of my offices we have Shavlik Protect servers that are running 2008 Standard and protect v9.0 patch 3. These servers do not service agents or have any distribution servers linked to them, just simply run local IP scans and run a local sql express database.

I have new 2012 servers built and want to go to 9.2 update 2.

Rather than run through the whole migration process. Could I simply make a copy of the database from the original server, copy to the new server and run through the 9.2 install and point it to the copy of that database during install, or will that blow up on me?
