Deploying Google Chrome 50.0.2661.102 update creates desktop icon

When deploying Google Chrome 50.0.2661.102 update (and previous versions I believe) it creates desktop shortcut on the "C:\Users\Public\Desktop\".  This is a problem because users cannot delete things from the Public User desktop because they are not Administrators.  I thought the new Edit capability of the Patch 2.2 would assist in me just scripting post action to delete the icon, however, it is not created when it installs.  It is created after the reboot.  Therefore, I cannot just delete it as post action (Del "C:\Users\Public\Desktop\Google Chrome.lnk" /Y).

How can I stop that from happening?
