Further to this I have tried applying Patch 3 to 9.1 and now have a mixture of problems. When adding the VC into Shavlik I get:
The server could not be added:
Cannot complete login due to an incorrect user name or password
This is the same credentials that were working before! I have tried recreating but that does not work, and have proven that the credentials are correct by connecting to the server via UNC and using the same user and password combination.
Other others are still receiving "The server could not be added. The host could not be found."
Apologies for the late reply, I would say you are running into a permission issue. This document may help: Minimal vSphere Permissions Required for Operations in Protect
I would suggest give the other uses full rights for testing then reduce rights as needed.
Going forward, we're going to need a case so we can look at logs.
Did you ever get a solution to this? Shavlik started doing the same thing for me. Working fine, then all of a sudden could not connect to any vcenter server whatsoever using anyone's credential. Thanks!
