3010 would indicate the patch installed (or at least processed) but a reboot is required to fully install it. Did you allow a reboot? Have you scanned the machine since the reboot?
Yes, a reboot is scheduled and executed post install of patches. The subsequent scan did not report a failure or success of the patch. In addition, we get an error in the windows application event log: Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80004005: Security Update for Windows (KB3033929).
I'm not aware of any known issues with installing this Security Tool patch, but issues like this will happen from time to time for a number of reasons. Patch Install Failures, Deployment Tracker communication issues or detection logic errors would be prime suspects to causing an issues like this.
Patch Install Failure:
The most important thing is to verify if the patch is installed or not.
After verify the target rebooted, what does a new scan against the target show? Is the patch Missing or Installed.
You may see failures in the Deployment Tracker when the patch in fact installed.
A rescan of the target machine should be the first step to verify the patch is installed.
Detection Logic Issues:
We corrected a detection logic issue in the April 16th data release. The XML version was 220.127.116.114. You can verify you are using the latest XML version in Help > About.
