We definitely support those patches. The WUScan would show the patches as missing or installed unless 1) Protect is not licensed 2) Protect has out of date data files or 3) the patches are not applicable.
Go to Help - About and verify you are fully licensed.
Make sure you have the latest data files by going to Help - About. You will see a listing of "Data versions" on the right hand side. The latest version for the Patch Assessment is 220.127.116.1136. A Help - Refresh files will update the files if you are out of date.
You can go to View - Patches and search for MS14-052 and MS14-053 to verify they are listed.

Well, you are definitely on to something. The version is indeed behind. My Patch assessment version is 18.104.22.16826.
When I try to refresh files, however, I get stuck:
Downloading latest IT scripts...
Error: File not downloaded: scriptcatalog.zip
Error reason: The remote server returned an error: (407) Proxy Authentication Required.: http://xml.shavlik.com/data/scriptcatalog.zip
Failed to download 1 file(s).
All engines and definitions are up to date.
I'm digging deeper from here...Any thoughts on where to go next?
Never mind, it seems my proxy settings got tweaked. I manually set them, and was able to download the updates
It appears the answer to my proxy problems is in Shavlik User Community : All Content - Shavlik Protect
Now I have other fish to fry.
