I also made sure the Scheduler Service is installed on the computer. I then deployed a new patch....it also says "Executing."
I have been struggling with this issue for months. The issue is not random, it occours on the same systems every time. All troubleshooting steps outlined in Shavlik documentation has been followed and it still not working. Tried email support and it was a failure. Opened a phone support ticket and the Shavlik support tech did the same troubleshooting that we did No success again. WSUS was more reliable than this. Good luck with this one.

we observed this behavior with the java updates. Seems to wait for some programs to close (IE?) an proceeds. On a server we saw a Java prompt and the installation continued after confirmation (the automatic restart, too :-( )
