We are investigating support for Linux, Unix, and Mac in Protect. Since being aquired by LANDesk we have access to a lot more of this technology internally so it is really a matter of prioritization. The next release of Shavlik Protect (9.1) is already nearing feature complete and will be going through some field testing starting in mid november and public beta likely starting sometime in January. This release does not include the additional platform support. The release after that is currently being finalized as to what major feature we are looking to implement. Linux, Unix, and Mac support are strong candidates for that release, but likely Linux\Unix or Mac would be implemented then the other at a later date. If you or anyone else in the community would like to share specifics on what you are looking for please feel free to post what flavors and how many devices you are running so we can get a better understanding of your needs. You can also use the feature request system in Protect (under help) to submit this information. Please also include details on 32 or 64 bit verisons.

Also can you tell me if Shavlik will run on Server 2012?
Yes, it will run on Server 2012. I have benn using Shavlik on 2012 for several months now without any problems.
9.0 was tested with Server 2012. 9.1 will be tested as a console for Windows 8.1 and Server 2012 R2 as well.
