We have found an interesting issue with vCenter Protect Advanced. We have recently started building out vApps to make management a little bit easier. Now when we go to try to patch a vm in a vApp, it errors out. Additionally, when we go to add a vm from the vApp, it does not show up. I have included a screen shot of the report that is run when trying to connect. There are two errors that it displays, 808 - No disks specified to mount and 452 - Unable to connect to the remote machine.
Currently the product does not support scanning and patching of VMs in a vApp. If you'd like to see this functionality in future releases, submission of a feature request would be a huge help. The feature request form is available at shavlik.featureidea.com
