Copying the patches should not be a problem but there will be a lot of old patches that you may not ever need again.
You should be able to just activate the product with your current license. If you get an activation error please call us 1-866-407-5279, I like to think that we are pretty easy to talk to, and do not make you jump through a bunch of hoops.
I need to know how I can have this product show up under my name in "My
VMware". We (Dept. of Army APG MD) buy this every year but I am the primary
user. I do not have this as one of my products. Order #11248095.
Most of our older licenses are not yet visible in MyVMware. Part of the upgrades that went into 8.0.1 and 8.0.2 was to start integrating the VMware licensing schema so that they could be managed through MyVMware eventually.
Thank you for the information. Lastly I need to download the new version, do I download a trial and use my key? Also note our
key is for the Government Edition, at least it should be. I am having trouble tracking down our key though.
If you look in help>about vcenter protect you will find your currant key. You can also get the latest version at by using the help>check for program updates.
Seems like the check for updates says 8.02 is available but all I get is a patch it looks like. 12MB in size.
If you are currently using 8.0.1 that patch is exactly what you need.
