How To: Change Group By Selection in Patch for Windows Servers 9.3

    Purpose

     

    The purpose of this document is to show how to change the Group By selections in Ivanti Patch for Windows Servers 9.3.

     

    Description

     

    By default, Patch for Windows Servers 9.3 will display machines and patch breakdowns unfiltered and ungrouped compared to Protect 9.2.

     

    Default view for Protect 9.2:

    Instructions

     

    You can group in Patch for Windows Servers 9.3 just like in Protect 9.2.

     

    Simple filtering option

     

    • Right-click a column you wish to group by and select 'Group By This Column'.

     

    • To un-group by the given column, Right-click the column and select 'Ungroup'

    Advanced filtering options

     

    • To change how the patches are displayed, click and drag the column of your choice to the above header as seen below:

     

    • Once a column has been added, the patch break down will sort based on the selected column(s).

     

    • To Remove a column grouping, click and drag the column that was previously selected back to the row of columns:

     

    • The same applies to Machine listing and the grouping of machines. Select the appropriate column you wish to group by and drag to the above bar:

     

    • Additional groupings may be added to get additional filtering.
    • If filters are set to group by Machine Group, Domain, and Installed Patch Count, you will see the following using this grouping:

     

    In certain windows (ex. View > Patches), the option to drag a column header is not visible by default. To show this option, right click any of the columns, and select 'Show Group By Box'. To hide this option, right click any of the columns, and select 'Hide Group By Box'.
