The purpose of this document is to provide further troubleshooting options if the Shavlik Protect Console Service is not listed in Services.msc
Shavlik Protect Console Service is not visible in the Services.msc although Shavlik Protect runs without issues.
Check to see if Shavlik Protect has been installed in Add/Remove Programs. If Shavlik Protect is indeed installed, the Shavlik Protect Console Service should still be running. This issue is caused by the user not being logged in as the initial user who installed Shavlik Protect.
This has been found to only affect the following Operating Systems:
Windows Server 2008
Windows Server 2008 R2
Windows Server 2012
Windows Server 2012 R2
Uninstall and Reinstall Shavlik under the desired user.
The services can be stopped with the following commands in an Administrative Command Prompt
1. net stop stconsolesvc
2. net start stconsolesvc
