How To: Force A Post Deployment Report To Be Emailed After A Deployment Times Out

    Purpose

     

    The purpose of this document is to outline how to force an post deployment Report to be generated and sent after a deployment times out.

     

    Symptoms

     

    Post deployment Reports that are set to be emailed out after a deployment completes are not being generated because a patch or machine that times out.

    The post deployment Reports that are set to be emailed sent out are never do because the process never truly completes, although other patches or machines finish successfully.

     

    Resolution

     

    Under the General Tab of the Deployment Template there is a "Timing options" sections. By setting the time for "Hours until post deployment emails are sent.", this will make a set time(in hours) after all machines have stopped communicating to the Shavlik Protect Console to force the post deployment Reports to be emailed out.

    Additional Information

     

    The default value for "Hours until post deployment emails are sent" is 0. A value of 1 or greater needs to be set for the emails to be forced.
