Protect Cloud Registration fails with - The provided Protect Cloud Account could not be authenticated

    Purpose

     

    The purpose of this document is to show how to fix the error The provided Protect Cloud account could not be authenticated. Verify the selected credentials is currently valid with the Protect Cloud when attempting to register your console with the Protect Cloud.

     

    Description

     

    • After verifying that your credentials match the credentials in protectcloud.shavlik.com, You receive the following error when trying to register your console:

    • In Event History you see the following error message: An unsecured or incorrectly secured fault was received from the other party. See the inner FaultException for the fault code and detail.

    Cause

     

    This error happens when there is a time sync issue between your Protect console and the Protect Cloud servers.

     

    Resolution

     

    Change your console machine's time to match the correct time for your given time zone.
