How To: Increase the View Limit in Manage > Scheduled Console Task

Version 6

    This article provides instructions on how to increase the view limit of 85 tasks in Manage > Scheduled Console Task.

    You attempt to view your scheduled tasks in Manage > Scheduled Console Tasks and receive a popup error or no scheduled tasks show in the view:

    The service responsible for importing scan and agent results is not running

    You may also see this issue when upgrading from a previous version of Protect where you have more than 85 scheduled task.  The same error is returned when launching Protect or Manage > Scheduled Console Tasks.

    The current versions of Protect 9.2 have a view limit of approximately 85 scheduled tasks in Manage > Scheduled Console Tasks. Having more than 85 scheduled tasks will cause communication issues to the Shavlik Protect Console service.

    You can modify the STServicesBindings.config file located in the install folder for Protect to increase the amount of scheduled tasks supported.

    1. Close Protect and stop the Shavlik Protect Console service.

         2. Make a copy of the STServicesBindings.config located in the the install folder for Protect.

         3. Edit STServicesBindings.config and navigate to  first <binding> under <netNamedPipeBinding>

         4. Add the following to the config file:

    maxReceivedMessageSize="5000000" maxBufferPoolSize="5000000"

    This is what it looks like before:

    <security mode="Transport" />

    This is what it looks like after:

    <binding maxReceivedMessageSize="5000000" maxBufferPoolSize="5000000">

    <security mode="Transport" />

         5. Start the Shavlik Protect Console Service.
