To open Protect/Patch for Windows Servers you must run under a Windows account with administrator privileges

    In order to access the full capabilities of Shavlik Protect, you must run under a Windows account with administrator privileges. The program will most likely fail to load if you attempt to run it when logged in with an account that does not have at least local administrator rights.

     

    If you attempt to open Protect with an account that does not have administrative privileges, the message would say, "You have not been granted access, please see the system administrator to configure your role."

    Note: This is still a requirement even when using the role-based administration features of Protect.
